The Official CGC Server TitsFirst off, I’d like to say Happy Birthday Collective Gamer’s Community. Today marks the first anniversary since Sacrifist and I embarked with a small group of friends on our kickass journey to unite the gaming world and all the groups within it. One year to the day the CGC started out in obscurity. Looking back on the progress we’ve made since then I almost wonder how we managed to make it this far. The only answer is hard work, dedication and a fantastic member base. Without your support this would have never been possible. Thank you, our members, our loyal players, our server and forum regulars, and all of those who’ve contributed work to the servers.

With that said I’d like to announce the grand opening of the CGC’s newest server addition, Ground Zero. Ground Zero is a Team Fortress Classic server with more bells and whistles than you can shake a stick at. For more information see our TFC section for the blog http://blog.cgc-online.net/?page_id=6 or look for Ground Zero presented by the CGC in your TFC servers list while in STEAM.

The Official CGC Server Tits Just got through cleaning up and redoing Ground Zero ( formerly Ground Zero KiLL Machine TFC ). There’s a couple more things I’d like to finish up before opening the server up to the public, such as making a new cgc banner, getting statsme up and running, etc.

With that said, any regulars from the TFC servers when they were still KiLL Machine servers are more than welcome to come along. There’s definitely a place for all the server’s regulars here with the CGC. If you read this and get the chance to talk to anyone that plays on my Fast D/L No Speed Caps server, tell them about the switch over.

The Official CGC Server TitsListen up kiddies, I got some sweet news that is sure to bring some joy, thrills and chills to all of you. The CGC has 2 new servers coming soon. The first, a Team Fortress Classic server ( auspiciously named Ground Zero ) that myself, nana and m2 have worked on and modded to the max. Get no false impressions, when I say modded to the max I’m not joking at all. You are going to see things on this server that you’ve never seen in any other TFC server and most likely any other server. It’s been a year in the making and now it’s about to land at the CGC’s doorstep.

The second server is of the Counter Strike Source variety. This isn’t your normal server though. You’ll find that this is a human vs zombie based, team play oriented server ( Zombie Apocalyptica ). Some of you may have fond or not so fond memories of a ’similar’ mod for Counter Strike Source called Zombie Mod. This is not Zombie Mod. This is 100% in house scripted and includes features and changes that will put Zombie Mod to shame. I’ve taken special care to make sure the things you experience on Zombie Apocalyptica will give you chills, thrills and spills.

Ground Zero

[Plugins and Mods]

  • changed the game type for our server to: “cgc TFC”. Instead of seeing “Team Fortress Classic” as the game type, you see something different. (see this screenshot)
  • added a plugin that allows players to unf eachother which makes hearts explode from the person who got unfed and transfers health from the unfer to the unfee. ( big thx to m2 for coding this suggestion and adding some of his own ingenious ideas to it ) ( fuck you drippys )
  • made it so that infected players have a green flashing skull over their heads for the duration of their infection ( credit to m2! ) ( fuck you again dirppys )
  • added gibslay which allows admins to slay players into exploding fully customizable gibs ( another big thx to m2 for coming up with such a kickass idea and coding it ). there is also a version of this called cannonslay which turns players into cannonballs, lol!
  • removed players ghosts, deathbeams, and deathshots
  • fixed lag issues by removing total career kills. this plugin may return depending on whether we figure out a lag free way of implementing it back into the servers.
  • added spawn and death lights which are team colored.
  • added a fix so that res files are obsolete
  • added a plugin that randomizes the sky on mapstart
  • added a fix so that menu bullshit doesn’t stay on a players screen if a map changes or they disconnect while a menu is being displayed ( m2 good lookin out )
  • added a fix so that skies are automatically downloaded and missing skies will default to whatever sky we specify
  • tweaked some settings for certain maps in regard to triple jumping ( great idea m2 )
  • updated triple jumps and added a special effect to happen when players do their 2nd and 3rd jumps ( credit m2! )
  • there’s probably more stuff to add but i don’t remember all of it cause there’s been a lot of major work done on the servers over the last 2 weeks.

[Maps]

  • added ut_facing_worlds, a tfc version of the popular map facing_worlds for unreal tournament. ( big thx to smoke for making this wonderful map! definitely appreciate the custom maps you share with us.

[UT_Facing_Worlds]

  • created and added a plugin that plays the song, Facing Worlds, originally in Unreal Tournament’s original Facing Worlds CTF map. Players can stop the music by typing /stopmusic, or play/restart the song by typing /playmusic.
